Estonian Ott Tanak stretched his lead over Welshman Elfyn Evans at the Rally of Portugal after winning the first three specials on Saturday morning. With six stage victories out of 11 specials, Tanak's Hyundai had opened up a lead of 19.2secs ahead of Evans' Toyota and 25.3secs ahead of third-placed Dani Sordo, also in a Hyundai. The Japanese driver Takamoto Katsuta (Toyota) lay fourth followed by championship leader Sebastien Ogier who is 1min 4.9secs behind Tanak. There was no joy for Thierry Neuville, second behind Ogier in the championship, who crashed on Friday. The Hyundai driver managed to cross the finish line at the end of stage seven but he was unable to repair his rear suspension and was forced to retire. tsc/bsp
