The S&P 500 finished at another fresh record Wednesday, concluding a winning quarter as investors weigh optimism over the reopening economy against worries over the latest Covid-19 trends. The broad-based index climbed 0.1 percent to 4,297.50, a fifth straight record that lifted its overall gain for the quarter to more than eight percent and more than 14 percent for the first half of 2021. The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 0.6 percent to 34,502.51, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index fell 0.2 percent to 14,503.95. jmb/hs
