Championship outfit Nottingham Forest sacked their coach Sabri Lamouchi on Tuesday after a run of five defeats and have appointed Chris Hughton in his place. Lamouchi had been expected to leave after missing promotion to the Premier League with a poor run of form that saw them miss the play offs and that has continued this season. Former Brighton manager Hughton was announced at the City Ground just minutes after Forest confirmed Lamouchi's departure. "Nottingham Forest are delighted to announce the appointment of Chris Hughton as the club's new manager," a club statement read. "Hughton joins the club with a wealth of managerial experience, leading both Newcastle United and Brighton to promotion from the Championship and going on to establish both teams in the Premier League." Hughton has been out of work since leaving Brighton in May 2019. bur/dmc
