Garry Russell retained the WBC featherweight title in a bout against Mongolian Tugstsogt Nyambayar at Pennsylvannia's Allentown PPL Center on Saturday. It was a tough fight, but experience won out: the US champion successfully defended the title he has held since March 28, 2015 for the fifth time. Russell won on the unaminious decision of the judges: 118-110, 116-112 and 117-111. Speaking after the fight, the 31-year-old boxer put down his victory to experience, noting he has lost only once in his 32 fights. Featherweight IBO champion Nyambayar, 27, suffered the first loss of his career -- he had won the 11 previous bouts, with nine knockouts. mb/roc/jm
