Former Hearts and Rangers defender and Lithuania international Marius Zaliukas has died at the age of 36 after an illness, the Lithuanian Football Federation said on Saturday. "Marius was an inspiration to many young football players and his contribution to the Lithuanian football will never be forgotten," the LFF said in a statement. Zaliukas spent most of his career in Scotland and also had a stint at Leeds as well as clubs in his native Lithuania. He made 25 international appearances for Lithuania between 2006 and 2016. vab/sw/dj
