British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Tuesday commended Chelsea and Manchester City for their reported withdrawal from a breakaway European football competition, and demanded the rest of the teams also pull out. "The decision by Chelsea and Manchester City is -- if confirmed -- absolutely the right one and I commend them for it," he said on Twitter. "I hope the other clubs involved in the European Super League will follow their lead," Johnson added, after the British government threatened a range of measures to block the English teams from taking part. The other Premier League sides involved in the proposed league are Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, along with three clubs each from Italy and Spain. jit/dl
