France's Romain Langasque won his first European Tour title at the Wales Open on Sunday and also secured a spot in the US Open. Langasque carded six birdies in a closing 65 at Celtic Manor to finish eight under par and two shots ahead of Finland's Sami Valimaki. England's David Dixon and Matthew Jordan were a shot further back. The victory took Langasque into the world's top 100 for the first time and gave him a maiden place at the US Open next month. "In golf everything can go so quickly," said the 25-year-old who had been five shots off the pace overnight. "I'm really, really happy, this is where we all want to be and now I will have some good opportunities and need to focus again and play my best golf." dj/mw
