Dutch rider Bauke Mollema broke away for a solo win in the Italian Trofeo Laigueglia on Wednesday while Colombia's Egan Bernal won the sprint for second place. The 34-year-old Mollema broke on a slope with 16km of the 202km race still to go and made it all the way to the line 39 seconds ahead of the pack. Ineos rider Bernal won the sprint for second place as he begins his preparations for the Giro d'Italia, which will be raced between May 8-30. jm/dmc/td
