Dozens of people have been killed in multiple attacks in Niger near its border with Mali, security sources and local residents said on Tuesday. The attacks on Monday in the Banibangou area in the Tillaberi region first targeted a bus, killing around 20 people, and then nearby villages where around 30 died, they said. Niger is battling jihadists in the southeast on its frontier with Nigeria, and in the southwest, on its frontier with Mali, where the conflict began before spreading over the borders. bh/stb/de/pma/ri
