Sales of existing US homes surged a record 24.7 percent in July, the second straight record-breaking month amid a boom in sales nationwide, the National Association of Realtors (NAR) said Friday. Sales of single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums and co-ops jumped to a seasonally-adjusted annual rate of 5.86 million in July, as all regions saw double-digits increases compared to June, NAR said. The increase put sales up 8.7 percent compared to July 2019. The median sales prices rose 8.5 percent to $304,100. hs/cs
