Veteran Greece defender Georgios Tzavellas has signed a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee with AEK Athens, the Greek Super League club announced on Wednesday. Tzavellas, 33, who has made 40 appearances with the Greek national team and went to the 2014 World Cup, returns to Greece after four years in Turkey with Alanyaspor. He previously played for PAOK, Monaco and Eintracht Frankfurt. Another Super League side Ionikos, meanwhile, announced the signing on a one-year contract of Togo international midfielder Alaixys Romao. The 37-year-old, who has 67 Togo caps and played in France's Ligue 2 for Guingamp last season, is no stranger to Greece having played for Olympiakos between 2016 and 2018, winning the Super League in 2017. le/bsp/td
