Diego Simeone left both Alvaro Morata and Joao Felix on the bench for Atletico Madrid's Champions League quarter-final against Leipzig in Lisbon on Thursday. Simeone put his faith instead in Marcos Llorente, the central midfielder who has enjoyed an impressive run of of form playing up front. Leipzig were without Timo Werner after he finalised a move to Chelsea but coach Julian Nagelsmann also sprung a surprise by leaving striker Emil Forsberg on the bench. The Swede had scored four out of Leipzig's last eight goals in the Champions League, including one in the win against Tottenham in the last 16. Yussuf Poulsen, Dani Olmo and Christopher Nkunku formed the front three.
