The opening round of the 84th Masters resumed on Thursday after a thunderstorm suspension of nearly three hours at Augusta National. Only nine golfers managed to complete a single hole each before play was halted only 35 minutes after it began. US Open winner Bryson DeChambeau was set to be in the next threesome to start off the 10th tee, the tournament opting for a two-tee system to utilize lesser autumn daylight after a postponement from April because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Play resumed about seven hours before sunset with the last group set to tee off about two hours before darkness. The most recent Masters round not completed the day it began was the third round in 2006 when 36 players did not finish. js/nr
