Nigeria have named Lorient striker Terem Moffi among three uncapped players in a provisional squad for next month's friendly against Cameroon in Austria, officials said Saturday. Portugal-based midfielder Abraham Marcus and Almeria striker Sadiq Umar are the other uncapped players on the squad, they said. Moffi, 21, has scored 15 goals in all competitions for Lorient in France. He was placed on standby for recent Africa Cup qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho, Sadiq Umar pulled out of the qualifiers due to coronavirus travel restrictions, while Marcus has been sensational in Portugal. The match is fixed for June 4 at the Wiener Neustadt in the Vienna. The 31-man provisional squad will be cut down to 23 before the Super Eagles fly to the Austrian capital for the clash with perennial rivals Indomitable Lions. Nigeria trounced Cameroon 4-0 in a 2018 World Cup qualifying match in 2017 and were forced to a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture in Yaounde, setting the stage for Nigeria's qualification for the finals in Russia.
