The Heritage Foundation’s Zack Smith, arguing against DC statehood, says DC residents “already impact the national debate” because members of Congress see their yard signs while driving to work.
Review:
The author accurately describes what was said, but inference was satirical. Mr. Smith's argument, while over simplified, is accurate. D.C was prohibited statehood because of undue influence. However, population in 1790 was 14K its now 700K leading to a new interpretation.
