Going against FDA warnings, Arkansas physician gives anti-parasite drug to jail inmates with COVID-19
Review:
FDA has not approved ivermectin for use in treating or preventing COVID-19 in humans. Ivermectin tablets are approved for some parasitic worms, and there are topical (on the skin) formulations for head lice and skin conditions like rosacea. Ivermectin is not an anti-viral.
Review:
Ivermectin has been FDA approved for human use, the doctor is using it off label which is his right as a physician. The warning was about animal medications that have other components than ivermectin.
