Holy shit. The CDC actually put together a document to discuss putting high risk people into camps to “shield” low risk people from them. No— this is not a joke, and yes, every single person who has made a reference to 1930’s Germany is vindicated.

Document is a discussion paper detailing the shielding approach and its issues, not a policy or plan. Owens is known for pushing misinformation on social media, concerning COVID-19 in particular. Tweet mischaracterizes the CDC paper and should be considered prejudicial.

The document actually addresses segregating high-risk-people who are ALREADY in refugee camps (like migrants who have nowhere else to go), in order to help protect them from COVID-19. It does NOT suggest putting people into refugee camps.
