This statement is put forth as factual but misses the importance of Juneteenth as being the day that slaves were freed. Saying this day was about ?race? is intentionally misleading.

Juneteenth is a recognition as a the day slavery legally ended in the United States and bears no competition with the July 4 holiday. Texas was the first state to officially recognize Juneteenth as a holiday.
