This is what happens when you force the grid to rely in part on wind as a power source. When weather conditions get bad as they did this week, intermittent renewable energy like wind isn’t there when you need it.

Many countries with renewable energy production have icy winters. They use commercial cold weather gear to protect those systems and keep them operational. ERCOT and the State of Texas failed to ensure those protections were required or in place, even tho aware of the risk.
